Hi to everyone on GoStatic,
What a great site and community you have. Have been reading for a while and had problems registering, but thanks to Darren I can now introduce myself. My name is June and we have a Willerby Granada 2004. We are sited at Lilliardsedge park near Jedburgh in the Scottish Borders. The park has trebled in size over the past six years and has a 9 hole golf course for the hubby. We love our static and hope to have many more years of relaxing weekends in our van. It has double glazing, central heating and wooden decking. We have brilliant neighbours, and I can't fault anything about our site or van in the six years we have been addicted. Looking forward to being part of this friendly web site,... Vinolady.:)

Hi nudzy, it is a great site but it has grown so much over the past few years, for the better though. Has a lovely family bar, games area and function room. It has a 9 hole golf course and the members encourage the youngsters to join, they have a youth section of their own. We love it and hope to have many more years enjoyment. One of the lucky ones I guess. ;)

Hi all, another newbie here. recently brought a willerby richmond 2006 3 bed static which has standard electric air blows in the bedrooms and a gas fire in the living room, so was wondering what heating system would be the best besides central heating? Any recommendations?

Hi there and welcome. I am now of course, expert in all things heating!! Not.
I take it you're not happy with the warm air? I think it totally depends on the different layout of interiors....But for what its worth, dont entertain any suggestion of panel heaters. They are less effective than a lit match! I found, as many others on here, that oil filled rads are extremely effective in individual rooms and if you've got the sockets - its a good way to go. Check the elec wattage though - I tripped our electrics using a 2kw (but not nearly on high!). I now wish I'd got central heating when upgrading. But I stupidly thought the heaters in both bedrooms would be sufficient. "Oh they only take the chill off!" Is the response from sales team.....(odd that they didnt say this before). Well believe me, they dont even do that !!

Thanks for the quick reply springhay, so would recommend the oil filled radiators or not if they only take the chill off? Can't really afford central heating so that isn't an option really, and I too have heard the panel heaters aren't very good.

Sorry I must have made that too confusing. No, the oil filled rads are fine. I found that on the lowest temp. the double bedroom was nice and cosy within ten mins. Yes it was cold weather. But the oil rads did in ten mins, what the panel heaters didnt do for ten hours!!

Thanks again for your quick reply, it seems like i'll get some. I might get the ones with the timers so the bedrooms are nice and cosy at night and in the morning when we get up. Cheers again.

We find that our bedroom heaters work great they are 500 watt blowers we put them on an hour before going to bed and the bedroom is really warm but as it cools down pretty quick I'd advice a good warm duvet to take you through the night. Our gas fire suffices in the lounge and a 1000 watt oil filled radiator used occassionally in the kitchen suffices for us, the only place which we struggle with is the bathroom which has a 150 watt panel heater so we may change this for a larger one at some point.
