Hi guys

yesterday i was having some toast for my breaky and i happend to choke on a piece so i shot up out of my seat and rushed to the kitchen but as i got half way down the kitchen and still choking my legs went to jelly and i just made it to a kitchen top before i crashed to the floor, anyway as i hit the deck the crumb released itself and at the same time i herd and felt an all mighty crack in my left foot, i got up and realised i was in pain so i rested my foot for the rest of the day as there was no brusing or swelling.

this morning when i woke up the pain was worse so the missus took me to hospital where they looked at my foot and said that i had damaged some tendons in my foot i was lucky as i have 2 job interviews next week as i have been out of work since january this year and didn't want to miss the chance of getting a job just hope the pain eases before monday and tuesday.

Graham - i did a similar thing, rushing downstairs once. the pain bad but because I'm a woman (hahaha!!) I soldiered on and carried on with my day.
Next day far worse - felt sure I had broken something. Bruising literally black underneath my foot. But no nothing broken and I felt a bit silly when they said sprained tendons. When he said it would be six weeks before totally healed, I just couldnt see it! But just so you know - it blooming well was!!
You'll manage the interviews (and best of luck for them!!), but dont think it will get better overnight.......

yeah i know wishfull thinking on my part, one job in perticular is for a security guard at ASDA yeah i know ex fork lift truck engineer to a security guard  but willing to try enything there is two interviews with that job and if i get it i won't be starting for a couple of weeks so hopefully will give it chance to start to heal but the other is for a machine operator and if i get that it will be an imediate start as they will want to train me up but would be nice to get one of them.

Sorry to hear of the escapade in the kitchen!!
Think yourself lucky you didn't completely rupture your Achilles Tendon like Chris (my wife) did in May just stepping off a boat.
In plaster for 9 weeks & still in pain with numbness & cramps, Consultant says it can take 12 months to 2 years to totally heal & would've been better breaking the leg!!

All the best for the interviews.

Don't take any notice of me my OH broke his ankle, we thought it was only badly sprained, I'd heard wrapping sprains in comfrey leaves was good to take out the bruising and swelling - the bit I didn't know is that I should have boiled em first, I just wet them in cold water and wrapped them around his leg then put a bandage on top to hold in place - oh boy big mistake - it had the same effect as stinging nettles !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :o Still the hot itching took his mind off the pain, and just to be cheerful, its still not right after 18 months but they do say the smallest bones take the longest to heal. Enough of my rambling take a couple of pain killers and jolly good luck with your interviews, the job title dosen't matter, any job is a scoop these days.

i forgot to say i have been doing the security job now for a week but its not really for me there are so many differant things you have to do, our store is not 24 hrs so once you have opened up every morning you have to go in the stores and inspect rubbish meat, fish, bakery, and other food rubbish aswell as general rubbish and then its part of your job to throw the waste into the appropriate skip / compactor aswell as sort out contractors and then do your security work so i have spoken to the peeps manager and the security manager and i am being moved to another department within the store possibaly being in charge of the beers, wines, and spirits shelving stocking it up and keeping the shelving and area clean and tidy or going in the stores and doing something in there, i don't mind what i do if they give me the job of throwing rubbish in the compactor / skips all day i don't have a problem with that its just the fact of doing different things throughout the day, i have been a fork lift engineer for the past 30 years and getting my hands covered in oil every day and i just wasn't used to that sort of thing so i think what ever job they give i should be ok with that.

AHAHHA!! Still havent replied to the other post yet about freezing me baps off!! I have to say I deserved the speeding but paid the bl....dy price in points and money -- he said he could see I was a decent person !!! I think he could have done far worse if I hadnt held my hands up - as it were....

But he should have seen me firing on all pistons once with another member of the force!! Not a pretty sight --

I must get to bed now - but no. They insisted on taking it to court. You know what little hitlers are like especially if a woman is getting one over on them. Fine. I was sent a copy of their statments, which were so easy to pull to pieces...so I made their contradictory evidence crystal clear by being completely truthful in my statment. The case was dropped. They had actually tried to breathalyse me to show how powerful they were! I actually dont drink and asked them what reason they had to think I'd been drinking ....idiots!

yeah i am on 5 x 10 hr days and off thursday and friday this week then off monday and tuesday from next week but after christmas the hours will probably change atm with the christmas rush building up its all hands on deck and plenty of over time to be had, oh and i am working in the stores bringing stock in and putting stuff out onto the shelves and rolling stuff out in cages onto the shop floor ready for the night shift the put out onto the shelves, its hard as you don't stop and not used to it but once i have been there a few weeksi think i will be ok but up to now i really enjoy it and i think once my foot is better the job will be better as its holding me back a bit towards the end of the day but i will get there.

in at the deep end hey? ten and twelve hour shifts.. i used to work on grocery too.. lugging huge cages or comps out and trying to fill the shelves at the same time as customers are walking around.. Christmas was the worst.. you could never get the stock out fast enough..

its a sociable job though and when you have been there for over 6 months you will get a discount card- 10% off your shopping bill yippee :)

Always got to have an opinion on everything havent I? Haha -- but seriously I have always wondered about this, so perhaps you could enlighten me .....Just what is it that makes people go to supermarkets as though time is running out IN NOVEMBER??? Honestly, I go for ordinary shopping, and want to be in and out, but from five weeks before Christmas I cant even park!! What does everyone buy for goodness sake??

Its the commercial guy's reving people up from August straight after the holiday adds either that or there's and awful lot of barmy people, after saying that guess who wrote her christmas cards in October this year, yup did it while lubbing out at the caravan, very relaxing.
