Hi everyone - what a great Forum!

We have decided to give up touring and go back to a static. We went down this same route before when the kids were young - campervan>mobile home>touring van>static>lodge and ended up at Wild Rose Park near Appleby (fantastic park).

When we retired we decided to try touring again but the familiar hassles got to us in the end - difficult & expensive towing, putting up & taking down wet awnings, emptying cassette toilets and waste water, lack of space etc, etc.

Now we are thinking of getting a static at Kelling Heath (N.Norfolk) to be near our daughter and grandchildren who live in Norwich. Does anyone know Kelling? We are booked there with our tourer next month and, if we can do a deal, that may be my last tow - hurrah!

Also, do parks generally take tourers in part exchange for statics? - we did this at Wild Rose but that was 15 years ago!

All the Best
Brimsdale

Hi and welcome to the forum,

Happy positng,

Hi welcome to the forum (have I already said hello?? Lol) the sea air may have got to me lol
Not sure about sites taking tourers as part ex, but preloved and uk campsite websites are very good for selling tourers ;-)
If you can sell it privately "ready to go" you'll be able to ask more, if you sell to a dealer (some will collect but give a lower price) empty it and maybe sell the stuff as a 'starter pack', people are still buying stuff at the mo, so good luck!
Best thing we EVER did buying 'our old girl' ... Should have done it ten years ago!

hi Brimsdale

Yes I know the park well we looked at it seriously before settling on Overstone in Northamptonshire.

The problem I found with it was that most of the vans (though not all) were pitched right in the woodlands, which made it very dark at times.

Also we wanted to sublet which they weren't happy with, so didn't pursue.
