Hi everyone,
I have a chance on buying a log home which is a static caravan with wood cladding on it, the owner does not know what model it is and how old it is, but i have been told there is a place on the static which gives you the date and model, where do i look, ????

Hi Peter,
I believe if you make a note of the serial number which can be found on the boiler or on the outside of the caravan then get in touch with the manufacture they should be able to age it for you!

cheers Andy,
will check it out by having a look at the boiler as i have no chance on the out side as it is covered in logs

hi peter,
try near or under the entrance, normally a metal plate with details,it seems rather strange that an owner dosn`t know the log cabins make? have they got any paperork for it?how long have they had it?
sounds wrong to me! be careful!

Hi Pete,
Have you checked on the cross members of the chassis as this is where many manufacturers put their details, you may find 2, 1 for the chassis number and 1 for the serial number.
Or another place to check is the electrical box inside the van as this often states the date of installtion which will be the time the log cabin / caravan was made.
Often worth all buyers worth looking at when they purchase a used van as some less honest sales people may say it is younger then it actually is, as our electrician has noticed a few times in the past when contacting up on site.
Good luck with your buy but get all the info first it is always best to have as much as possible.
