We are still trying to sell our static. Someone is interested in buying the caravan but re-siting it. I'm not sure whether they have got a site in mind. The have asked if I know how to go about arranging this. Does anyone know of any companies which transport caravans to other sites, how much, approximately this will it cost, or are there any companies which will transport your caravan free of charge to their own site. Can anyone out there give me any advice. Thanks.

loads of companies out there that will transport it but it ain't cheap. if they have a site in mind then the site would be able to arrange it for them but might be dearer than doing it yourself as they do like to make a few quid lol

Hi rose, there are companies that advertise their services on ebay as well :)

The people who are interested in buying our caravan have a site in mind they would like to move it to but they have been told by this site that they must own the caravan for 24 hours before it can be moved. This would mean that commission on the sale would have to be paid. Has anyone encountered a problem like this and is there any way round it without having to pay commission fees etc. For the sake of 24 hours this seems ridiculous.

Hope the park owners on here can help.......presume that you mean your site want commission, before they will let you off site.

Your site might prefer to recommend someone to move the caravan. Some sites will only allow approved contractors onto the site, or they may charge you a disconnection fee and removal to somewhere where an outside contractor could pick the van up.
I have been on a private site with similar no-win rules. When you buy a Static on someones private land they have you by the short and curlies.

Here's another idea... YOU organise the transport of your caravan as if it is YOU that is moving, but the people buying your caravan pay you ...

Thank you all. I knew I would get some good advice from you! I think I have thought of a way round it. Unfortunately though, I think my potential buyer may be getting cold feet about buying it now, and I think the site she wants to take it to (it's a very big site owner beginning with H and ending in n) may try to persuade her to buy one of their caravans and offer free site fees etc. Making her an offer she can't refuse. Meanwhile we will be back to square 1.

Oh, that's a shame, it's a pity your buyers don't realise what the likes of H***N actually make on a van, especially if they can give away there overpriced site fees in the package.
