Hi buckshot and welcome to the forums.
We have people on here from all parts of the country. Someone no doubt will be along to advise. Nice part of the world up there btw.

We have our static located in the morecambe area, just outskirts of lancaster. Under southlakeland parks, locations of all parks link : http://www.slholidays.co.uk/park-locations

The Park were on is huge 500+ vans, not family run as far as i know. we have been at the Ocean Edge Park for over 7 years and are very happy. Site fees are priced at 2200pounds includes insurance, bottled gas. Electric prices on top we average to pay around 70 pounds every 6 months. Season is open from Feb 18th till 3rd Jan. They sell statics on site also, have noticed website is reguraly updated with new statics.
The site were on has peace of mind, good security patrols, electronic barriers, cctv.
Were still on our first holiday home and before we bought it was looking for a location ideally in the blackpool/Garstang area, as we live near Manchester, at the time prices were so high they were out of our price range for site fees, we viewed many sites family ran and main stream business sites in the blackpool area, we would say if u have pots of money then calagran would suit. If not and we stayed for a weekend then try Windy Harbor on the outskirts of blackpool, we decided that both werent for us 'no sea view'. There are loads of holiday Parks in the Blackpool area, we thought these 2 were at the top of our list. I can give more info if need be but google prolly has it all. To add we also viewed many sites in the morecambe/carnforth/lake district area. Research and allmost a year of searching we found our haven.

Hope its of some help. :)

I also like this area, Plenty of Rivers and excuses for fluff chucking.
When I had a tourer I have stayed at Claylands (http://www.wyreparks.co.uk/)it is now part of a larger group.
Great Location

Good Luck

Hello and welcome.

I am on a site about 8 miles from Garstang, i would not call it a family site though, as there are no facilities on site, it is mostly very quiet and lots of people spend all the season in their vans. It depends on what you want really, but in my opinion when my daughter was young, she would have been bored on our site, even off the site itself it is just a quiet country road, but the villiage of Great Eccleston is about 1/2 mile away.

I am sure i have seen a few sites on the main Garstang road, and even further up towards Lancaster would be nice too, but sorry i cant be more help.

You must have the cheapest site fees on here twindecks. I personally couldn't cope with no water connected to my van (I don't do shower blocks and toilets lol), but you seem to have got around the electricity problem.

Welcome to gostatic buckshot - I hope you find a site soon.:)

Blimey you have got it all sussed out - can you use the loos in your van too? Do you have to pay rates on top of the £650?

Edit: Sorry twindecks - I have just read back and you have to use a camping toilet.

My van is on a small site at Cockerham 6 miles west of Garstang and remote so not what you are looking for.But Cockerham Sands on the Lune estuary near Glasson Dock is a good developed site with facilities inc bar/swimming pool/entertainment etc and there are static vans there for sale.May be what you are looking for and it's a lovely area as has been mentioned. There is also a large site at Glasson Dock.

No we are not.I am at Bank End just outside Cockerham on the coast next to the salt marshes. On the very high spring tides the road there is under water. No facilities but it's quiet for us and friendly caravaners there to.Nice sheep & cows as well.

650.00 a year

Wow £650.00 a year.. We pay £4,000 site fees, although we are on billing aquadrome and have tons of facilities, including some that we dont use.
Anyway, because of the site fees (its like having a 2nd mortgage) we are trying to sell our van as we only live on site for the warmer months and our other property obviously needs bills paid on it.
