Not sure if this is the right place but we have thought about this for a while, as you may know we have 3 caravans in North Wales and I would LOVE one in the sun, initial enquiries have proved very very difficult, internet does not have any usful information on it. We are looking for a site where you can rent out and within walking distance from Benidorm itself. I have relaised that they don't use statics much (I assume because of the heat) but they tend to use tourers with awnings.
Can anyone help with a site or has anyone any experience of owning abroad, things to watch out for, do's and don'ts, I know all the usual in the UK but am loking for more info for abroad.
Many thanks as usual
Jo

I don't know about Spain but there are thousands of caravans in France. Willerby constantly have engineers going around France doing warranty work.
From an investment point of view I would think you'd do better over the channel rather than Benidorm.

Hi,
Trying to do something new in business is always risky. If there are no statics on sites around Benidorm I wouldn't want to be the first one to put a static caravan on one. There's no established market.
In the S of France there is an established market so you can at least work out what your costs are going to be, what the going rate for hire is and average occupancy and work out what your margin is likely to be. Much less risky but may have lower returns.
Good luck

Hi Jodie,
These might be able to help you, sambeck caravans, www.sambeckcaravans.co.uk or, Mobile homes Aboard, and I think Direct Holiday Homes may also be able to help though I am not sure of the website addresses. As far as static caravans located in spain there is already quite a large selection of parks many of which already have british owners on so there does seem to be some choice it is a case of searching and maybe trying caravan dealerships over here many of whom already export to europe and may have better contacts.
