We are considering hiring out our static. A new venture for us!
Is anyone aware of legal requirements that must be fulfilled before we can rent out?

Such as; minimum insurance
gas safety certificates

You insurance policy should stipulate whether you are covered for subletting or not. Gas checks should be done every year and electric every 2-3 years. Are you on Haven or Park Resorts?

On a private park in the South Lakes just inside the National Park.
Many thanks for advise re insurance and checks.

On a site near to Newby Bridge. This area seems to have its own eko climate. Can usually rely on the weather. Very convenient for the rest of the Lakes.

A perfect place to visit the lakes if you ask me, close to the main tourist traps of bowness/ambleside/lakeside but far enough away from the tourists.

I love that pub down their on the rivers edge, it takes you back in time when the train goes past from lakeside.

Is the park you are on one where you can only have 'green' caravans.

The pub you refer to will probably be The Swan at Newby Bridge. A lovely place to idle away time and stroll along the river by the moored boats.

Our site is near to Bouth where there is another nice pub The White Hart an old coaching inn.

There is no restriction on the site as to colour of vans. If people want to buy the site will source and sell it provided they make money. Having said that it is a small friendly site - no club - but caters for children with a park and adventure playground for older kids. Loads of walks directly from the site but equally convenient for all of the lakes.

Lovelly site

It sounds absolutly idylic. My sort of place.

*On a side note if/when you do start hiring out your caravan and would like to advertise it online give me a pm (private message) ;)

Hi Everyone,
I have just signed up with Gostatic.co.uk, it seems the best alternative to UK holiday caravans and parks Group, which closes down this month Feb '09.
The suggestions they made seem too 'ugly'. I am learning how to get around this site. Best Regards. Andy & Margaret

It would be worth checking your insurance or making sure you have public liability insurance incase someone gets injured in your static.
