On the theme of keeping warm has anyone got any experience with woodburing stoves, either using or installing?
As part of our plan would be to use the static over the winter on a semi permenant basis we wondered if that might be a solution to a freezing northumbrian winter...

hi there... did you find anything out about wood burning stoves (WBS)?
I have been looking into this a little for my static in place of the gas heater which I do not use (electric instead) and know people who have done this in the past. A lot depends on room size and output as WBS give out a lot of heat - have you ever used one? Another consideration is reinforcing the floor as WBS weigh about 100kg. Then there's the flue and wood storage.
I discovered a narrowboat stove which is very reasonably priced and compact but currently out of stock on http://www.naturalheating.co.uk/narrowboat-caravan-deluxe-stock-p-596.html but could be the perfect solution. Would be interested to hear how you got on. in the interim, hubby is installing a night storage heater for the winter (we have a privately sited static on mains leccy)
Just checked the website and the stove is nolonger listed but the Ladybird Cast Iron Stove is and is another slimline stove so will be investigating further...

The site I found with a small woodburner and a flue kit was:

Looking at costs it would have to be a long term investment but it would make the static much more useable in the winter!
sadly it looks like someone else is going to buy the static I was hoping to get before I can commit to it.
Let me know how you get on!
