Just an intro to all. We've owned on Thorpe Park Haven site in Cleethorpes for a couple of years - bought it cheap 2nd hand off Preloved site for use by us when we visited and also friends/family. We come from the Cleethorpes area and actually moved back here last year - no town like your home town! So now with Haven site fees a bit pricey we're thinking of letting it out. Not sure what kind of income I could expect for a 2 bed in a great position. Unfortunately can't rent it out in Aug as my mother returns from the heat of Tenerife and loves the caravan. Been reading comments on this site and found it useful. So I thought I'd join the fun - any other tips with lettings on a Haven site would be gratefully accepted!

Hello from a fellow owner at Thorpe Park!! :o

It's really great to find someone else with a van on Thorpe Park!! I know there must be plenty of owners out there, but they don't seem to participate in the forums!!

We bought one last year on Fern Walk. Ours is a 3 bed Abi Arizona, 2004 model.

We have let ours this year, and so far made about £3500 - but all our expenses need taking out of that. We didn't get much rental early in the season, just a weekend in April, one week each in June and July, but were fully booked for the summer hols. We haven't had any bookings since beginning of Sept.

We advertise on this site's advertising section, Go caravan rentals, and have had most of our bookings from there. Also in a bid to generate some more bookings for the end of the season we have also advertised with Direct Holiday Homes.

I think most people would advise you not to let through Haven under any circumstances - there are many horror stories about damaged vans and poor rental returns.

There is also another forum called Haven Owners Forum (I hope this site don't mind me mentioning) and I have used both this forum and that one for help and advice since before we bought our van.

If you do decide to sublet maybe we could keep in touch, and pass bookings to each other if we get requests for weeks that we have already booked up.
