Hi Keira,
We have two static caravans at Caister-on-Sea, Norfolk.
One of which is on the Haven site and we sublet that throughout the season. Our other one is on a private site.
Do you sublet yours?

Hi keira,
We have found the some people have no respect for other people's property and damage things so that is definitely a worry.
Some owners charge a £50 bond which guests would get back if the caravan and its contents are left in an acceptable condition.
Everything keeps going up unfortunately but it looks like petrol is eventually coming down... Yippeee!!

really well ime glad to hear that at least we can save a bit that way i cant win andy ide like to let it to get a little towards ground rent but at the same time we bought the van when i was ill to get me away and its now my little retreat so the thought of someone spilling all over it makes me cringe

Sorry to hear you have been unwell. I know exactly what you mean, it’s nice to keep it for yourselves and personalise it so it feels homely. We go to our caravan most weekends but unfortunately the end of the season is fast approaching! Where actually is your caravan if you don’t mind me asking?

Oh yeah I know Ingoldmells, it’s nice over there. We’ve been to Fantasy Island a couples times or so and walked along the sea front.
We’ll certainly be counting the weeks during the winter also. However we can go to the caravan during the day as I guess you can but can’t spend the night there

Hi Keira,
We visit ours occasional weekend days during the winter to check that everything is okay. We can use the gas and electric but would have to take our own water as I guess you know from yours that the water is off to prevent it from freezing. Have you visited yours during the winter months?
Luckily there is a pub nearby so we can make use of their conveniences!!

Hi Keira,
I’d check with your park first to make sure you’re allowed on site during the winter months, however I wouldn’t have thought there would be a problem as I know several people that visit there vans during the winter months.
It’s best to take any valuables out the vans and put the seating in the middle of the floor. We also put tubs of salt down as do many other owners as it helps to draw the moisture out the air then if necessary it can be changed over the winter when you visit.

Hi Guys,

We've always visited our during the winter. As mentioned you can check that there are no problems etc etc.

I think most parks do allow it, so you should be fine, although I would check aswell.

i think ours allow you to visit during day but to tell the truth i dont like to look at it upside down and bare it saddens me:(

We’ll have to petition to get the caravan sites to stay open all year round!!!!
Saying that though there would be a few problems to overcome first as you no doubt can imagine so perhaps that isn’t one of my best ideas!!! :(

I can't remember which ones off of the top of my head, but a few of the bigger ones are opening over the christmas holiday to get a bit of extra money in with the struggles they are having.

keira

I believe I’ve heard in the past of caravan sites opening over the Christmas period but can‘t think which one‘s either!! It’s a shame it’s not all of them and also a shame Christmas doesn’t last all winter!! :D

I wish I could open the park myself over Christmas but the only thing I‘m likely to open is my presents though that’s only if Santa thinks I‘ve been a good boy which I have.............Honest!!
