I have no idea how I will actually pull this off, although I am not unfit! I will be running for Ormiston children & families trust who provide valuable support to families and children in hard circumstances. This ranges from Physical/mental abuse, voilence, bullying, they even run families visitor centres at many prisons in the UK. See www.ormiston.org/ for a fuller picture. My wife works there. They do a brilliant job!

Here is what Ormiston say about their service to the community:
Ormiston is one of the largest charities supporting children, young people and their families in the East of England. We help and support children and young people who are experiencing prejudice and discrimination, those at risk of or experiencing physical harm, emotional or mental health problems, those who are displaying challenging or harmful behaviours, those who are the main carer for a parent or sibling and those who are affected by the imprisonment of a close family member. We work with the whole family to address the difficult situations they face and help them to make positive changes to their lives.

So, I have been training since May. Doing anywhere between 5 - 7.5 miles every other day give or take. Did a good run last night. 45 mins on the mill, (it was raining). I covered 7.5 Km. I felt good afterwards, although I desperately need to get myself some new trainers. The feet were red raw! I even had the energy after to do some press ups n crunches. Hey, its all good! I think this will be the perfect opportunity to get myself back to where I once was, (i.e. when I was 20-ish). No easy thing as I get older in years, (although I am a modest 29!). I have karate training this evening, and might see if I can do 30 or 40 mins afterwards. Really need to. Miles, miles, miles. Thats what I need. The karate training can be quite strenuous, especially on a Thurs. Looking forward to it!

Also, special thanks to TeeJay for the first donation. May many follow your generous example!

Woohoo! Just ran 10 miles in about 1 hr 15mins. Feel on top of the world! And a lil sore on the feet. Got some new running shoes, which really helped! My family and friends are being a little slow on the mark with sponsor money. Thats a bit disappointing, but then there is a long time to go until the event, 6 months in fact! Loadsa training n fund raising to go yet. If anyone has some cool ways to raise money please post a reply here. The more the better!
