Just back from a lovely long weekend break in our caravan with my Mum and Dad up from Bournemouth for a week and My Dad has now fixed all my odd jobs lol he is very handy unlike my OH who is hopeless  lol So now the bedroom draws that didn't line up, the wonky toilet seat, the broken catch on the bathroom cabinet, the outside light that would only stay on when the lounge light was on, built the new picnic bench (OH did help!!)even put some solar lights up on the decking for me!! the only thing he had to admit defeat on was the Heating.

The boiler is next to the bedroon and the radiators from there down to the bathroom work fine pumping out plenty of heat but the one in the kitchen is only just about warm at the top but cold at the bottom and the lounge one stays stone cold. He had a look and bled them etc but couldnt fathom out why it wasn't working? anyone got any ideas or will it be a plumber job?? just hoping to avoid that after recently paying £170 for repairs after the winter!

Did you check the isolation valves are open?

If you shut off the radiators that are getting hot do the others get any warmer nor stay the same?

Hi ya. Sounds like the radiators need "balancing". This means the ones that are`nt working properly need opening and the ones that are working need closing slightly. This is a fairly simple job. On the rad you have 2 valves on either side one is usually a thermostatic radiator valve and the other is a lockshield valve. It is the lockshield valve that needs adjusting, you need to remove the white plastic top and using an adjustable spanner you can undo or open the valve underneath untill even temperture is acheived at each radiator. If you have trouble a plummber willbe able to do this for you quite cheaply.

Thanks so much for that! OH did say for me to point out that the pipes that feed up to the radiator are stone cold too so theres no hot water coming through at all if that makes any difference?

Thanks again :D

Hi Keira, we've had it since last year and its a 2007 so guarantee is out. Not sure why the people who bought it from new didn't get it sorted though as Dad said it looked like it had prob never worked just like all the other jobs he had to do couldn't understand why if someone paid that much for a new van why they wouldnt get things fixed I know I would lol

Hi there,
We have the same problem in our Pemberton Monte Carlo, the last 2 radiators furthest away from the boiler are cold. The last one in the main bedroom never gets warm at all. Thanks for the tip about the valves.
