We are in the process of buying a second hand static on the above site.
This is a new venture for us, we will be sub letting it via Haven as we will be out of the country for the next 2 years. Having a static will give us a base in the area to come back to to see family, but for the first 2 years we won't get to use it ourselves all that much.
Can anyone offer any advice?

Hi,
I just posted something similar in the welcome section but don't sublet through haven.
You will receive a pittance, not be able to control who goes in your van and the cleaning crew will maybe empty the bin if your lucky.
Make sure they think you will be checking the van regularaly so they may look after slightly better if you really do have to sublet through them.
Have you looked at a local agent or spoke to anty other owners who also sublet other owners vans out, it could be a life saver.

We were thinking of subletting through Haven, but with their subletting scheme not their Guaranteed Letting scheme. The reason being we are new to this, and having no family near enough to manage it for us and being abroad we thought it would be the best option until we are back in the country and then we would look to doing it ourselves. But we have heard some horror stories about Haven and so are a little bit wary.....

Darren,
That seems like good advice, but I wouldn't know where to start finding an agent, or even a cleaner. Any ideas?

Hi,
I can't think of any off of the top of my head. I shall have a search over the next few days for you.

we had a bad experience letting thru haven. damage to my van and the cleaners took everything in my van that wasnt bolted down so we advertise locally now. at least you can take a bond to cover damage and have some control over your van i will never do it again

I'm sure if you ask around you will find some owners on the park happy to point you in the right direction.
I don't know anything about Haven but I know some parks allow owners to inform the park of the services they offer i.e. agents, cleaning, grass cutting etc and they will pass of this info to anyone enquiring. That is how we found the people that looked after ours.

You need to view the date the topic started or was last answered as this owner has actually owned a van for the last year/18 months :)
