Hi,

We are just about to part ex our new tourer for a static.

We will be living abroad for the next couple of years, and my hubby has 2 kids that live near the site. We hope that buying a static will be the answer to our problems of what to do with our brand new tourer.... how we can see the kids without having to transport them across the country to relatives...and how to cover our costs by subletting.

We are very excited about our new venture, having always fancied a static, but never have been in a position to afford one. Circumstances have forced us into it, and we just hope we are doing the right thing.....

Hi and welcome to the forum,

I'm sure that we will be able to help you as you go along.

Owning a static is a great lifestyle choice, but like most things it has its draw backs. If you have chosen the right park and van however it really can make your life that bit better especially for the young uns.

With regards to subletting, it is hard work to make a substantial income from it but it can be done. I would reccomend doing it yourself and not through a guaranteed sublet offer from the park. You'll see a pittance and have no control who goes into your van.

There are lots of websites (see sig for example) where you can advertise online for a small annual fee, place ads in local free ads and even newsagents. A bit of effort really does go along way,

Anyway, welcome again and happy posting.
