we spent our 1st night in our new house here at skipsea for the 1st time ,after living in our static caravan for the past 17months.,
it was ace having room in bed, also we feel abit lost after been used to the caravan, i mean come on ive just spent 17 months living in a static 35 x 12 3bed yes but wife, 2 kids, dog, cat, 2 hamsters it can get i bit airey,
all i can say is that ive loved living in it and if anyone was thinking of living in these then do it,
gets i bit much in winter when pipes have frozen and you cant get a wash or even flush the toilet but ive always been brought up to "ruff it" my dad used to say when we went camping as kids
up to now we are keeping the caravan , its going to be my next project (if i get time), new sofa, carpets, table ,fix all decking up then may have ago at renting it,

i know what you mean Barry, as my last house was a bungalow so the stairs are taking some getting used to, luckly the present owners had a stairlift in so iam using that lol

I always thought you were ready for a Stannah Stair Lift , it comes with age.

Well dont forget if you need an access ramp ( not sure if it qualifies for a disability grant ) i can soon pop over and build you one .
Obviously made out of vinyl decking materials.

hi, am new to all this, i moved into my van (polly) on 17th dec, and although we had no water and no gas as couldnt get any it was probably the best christmas ever for me and my 2 grown up sons, must be honest here though, they both couldnt wait to get back to their own homes and warmth, i have read a few things on here and now an a little worried i may have done the wrong thing in giving up my house to live in a van as some stories are a little scary especially the ones about being put off site and people too scared to talk, will someone please tell me i have done the right thing...pretty please!! lol

Hi claire and welcome to the forum. Many of us on here own holiday homes which we flit to when we need a break. From what i read from your post have you moved onto a 12 month residential site? If its just a holiday static you have bought then i think you are very brave as they are lovely for a holiday but even the very lavish ones cannot afford the space that a house offers. To stay in one with no water and gas over xmas was a brave decision too lol. When you mention about us all being worried about our vans being towed off i can tell you it does happen but not all that often. However,if you are on a 12 month residential site,i think you have in some ways better rights than holiday parks have,so as long as you abide by park rules you should be fine.

It's always amazing how big your house seems when you get back home from a fortnights holiday, so it must seem like your in a castle! I have to say I love the simplicity of life in a caravan - so uncluttered ... Maybe I need a life laundry?
Nice one Darren!!...and a nice new empty loft to start filling up lol;)
Claire!...welcome to the club gal...dont worry you"l be fine yes there are a few horror stories but think of the many thousands of owners that are well happy!
