i wonder if anyone on here has a van on ty mawr holiday park in north wales
it is owned by park resorts
it has come to the attention of the authorities that the vast majority of those vans on that site are too close together
the law of the land states that statics should be sited apart from each other a miimum of 12 foot or around 4 metres it can be more but it cant be less for health and safety etc.
the authoritis have been on there and measured the space and it is around 3 feet under that so the authorities are going to enforce this 4 metre rule so all those vans are going to have to be moved to that minimum distance ; which common sense tells you that more space needed for caravans on site within set area means that quite a few vans are going to have to come off
if you google map this site you can clearly see the caravans packed in tightly flaunting this minimum distance rule compared to other parks surrounding it in which the caravans are spaced out correctly
i beleive the powers that be are looking at other unsavoury aspects of the site as welll

Hi fontaine. We have a static caravan sited in Towyn but not at the ty mawr site.Last year we were unfortunate enough to have to pitch our tourer there for a weekend due to a double booking at another campsite.Last year was our last year with a tourer as we were already nosying around for a static in the area. The only good thing to come out of the whole weekend was that we got to see first hand what the park was like. This is just my opinion but the site(and i dont just mean the touring and tenting areas)was akin to the wild west at times.Come to think of it,the statics did seem closely packed together as well. You would think that a large concern such as park resorts wouldnt let such a thing happen would you. I feel sorry for the people who will now have to move off completely.Where will they go now especially those who have an aged van?

Hi Fontaine
We are on Ty Mawr and would like to ask where you got your information? We are on a nice part of the park and are well within the regulations but there are parts of the park where next door can hear the conversation with the doors and windows closed because the vans are so close together.
The park could be like the wild west during the summer but we rent out during this time and charge quite a lot of money to put off people who can only afford cheap and cheerful!
I like the park out of the main 6 weeks holidays, kids club, swimming etc. suits us fine but we have had hundreds of sales staff and are on our 3rd GM in 2 years so yes trouble could be brewing and I would like to be prepared so if you could let me know where the info came from that would be great.
Thanks
Jo

hi
my son had a bad experience on the park and noticed that the caravans were very close together
law of the land which councils enforce state that statics should be a minimum of 5 metres from he next one
most of the caravans on ty mawr are not this distance apart especially those
in front of the complex, although some are ok
i got my info from the county council who say they are going to strictly enforce the rule
and some info from par resorts head office who told me that they are stopping investing money in the park:eek:
