Angry Daily Mail Caravan Promotion

I have just bought my copy of the Daily Mail January 2nd and found they are advertising cheap caravan holidays for 15 p/p (plus a few extras). As someone who rents out their caravan I have sent them a snotty email complaining about the fact that they have in no way helped the private rental business. How do others feel about this as I would like to maybe start some sort of protest group on line.

I think The Sun also do cheaper caravan holiday deals, personally it doesn't affect me as I don't rent out my caravan but I can see your point.

Think Emmell had a thread on this last summer, apparently the sun promo didn't allow dogs and there were so many T & C's that it put the price up to a considerably more than that advertised but i think it was about 7 times as much as it first appeared.
it was the 9.50 holiday thread and i 'm sure the invoice was actually 75, because they had to pay for a minimum of 4.

Hi,
There are previous threads regarding similar situations with 'Sun Holidays'. (I'm trying to find them for you).

FUP 1.1 and 1.3.1 as this may apply in subsequent posts on the subject

As regards a "protest group" I don't think that Admin would approve of that on Gostatic. (I don't think you meant it that way?) We have raised it in "the office" this morning.

This sort of cheap holiday is precisely aimed at the private rental business and unfortunately if you do rent out on a park then this is the unfortunate situation you can find yourself in.The parks aren't bothered about the rental cost and who stays in your van as long as the punters spend money on food and in the bars then they are happy. The holiday parks only have a limited amount of Accomodation so they use your vans.Simple Business Acumen. As someone who rents out their van you want it occupied don't you in order to pay your site fees etc.Personally that's the obvious reason I don't rent out my van,I want it for me and my family, not any Tom Dick and Whatever.

daily mirror is 9 pounds starting price then all the add ons...
Might be worth the peeps who have to rent out to have a good look at the dates that all these breaks are for and make sure you already have those weeks booked yourselves

Last year my site ran special offers throughout the year, it didn't affect my friends who hire theirs out, New or older vans because of our site's popularity with families, so not always a bad thing for everyone

Here is the link:-

My park is participating and for some off peak dates the passes are free. There is no way private subletters can compete with this.
It looks like they are only from Standard, Superior, Deluxe and Deluxe Plus vans though. So if you have a higher grade van you should be OK. However, I'm sure these renters will be given the option to upgrade like Sun renters usually are I think.
