Default Holiday Park Disaster at Dorset Holiday Park

I have heard on the news today that one person has been confirmed as dead at a Dorset Holiday Park after a landslide.

It was near the Freshwater Beach Holiday Park. My thoughts are with the family and people involved in the incident and I hope that there are no more fatalities.

Terrible for all involved. Not only the family and friends of the person who lost their life, but also the park staff and owners who have to deal with the situation.

Saw a bit of it on the news

Another freak incident caused by the extreme weather conditions we are experiencing.

from what I read this morning it seems that the bad weather then combined with the heat of the last few days caused the face of the cliff to become unstable. It's such a shame for the family of that girl, she was on 22 years old!

It was so sad to read about that poor girl. Something you don't think about when walking along the beach underneath cliffs, maybe everyone should be more alert.

I've never been comfortable close to cliffs (for those of you who know the area, I hate driving past Kilnsey Crag in North Yorkshire, never mind walking close to a cliff). So, so sad - can't imagine what the family are going through.

My thoughts are with her family. Awful tragedy. The cliffs in N Norfolk are best not walked too close to either. Was on the beach one day and a couple of Typhoons flew out to sea and the noise just made a load of loose stuff come down. Bit scary at the time. Need to be aware now as the amount of water in the sandstone will be making them very unstable.

Sad times for all involved but this has nothing to do with the nearby holiday park.
