Default DIY leak repair

Afternoon folks, first post here.

We're currently living off-grid in a 34' static (an old Atlas Woodland) while we build a house. It will be sold once we move into the house.

The caravan is in generally good condition. However we recently had a prolonged period of very heavy rain that exposed a leak in the main bedroom at the end of the caravan (ie with a gable wall). An external inspection of the roof and guttering in that area didn't reveal anything obvious. I'd like to try applying a suitable treatment to the external corners, wall and roof in the general area.

I've seen a couple of possible products. One is a rubberised paint called Moisture Cure (caravanroofrepair.co.uk), and the other is called Fascinating Finishes Roof Paint, again a rubberised paint that has some decent reviews on Amazon. I'd aim to use something like Sikaflex 512 at the seams.

Any thoughts/observations/alternatives please?

Many thanks.

Pord

I always used Flashbanding on my older caravans.

Thanks Rob, great suggestion. I'll use that on the roof seam. How about other larger and more awkward areas such as corners - would one of those rubberised paints work?

I'm sorry I have no experience with leaks of that type. However to the forum. I hope that you receive good advice.

Sorry, I have no experience of using the rubber paint. Hope someone else can help you on that one. Regarding the Flashbanding, I have used that on roof seams, the joint where roof & sides meet at guttering level and also around skylights & roof vents for friends. I always keep a roll in my shed for emergency use of any friend on site who may need it even though I have not needed to use it myself on my last 2 caravans.

A friend in need is a friend indeed.
