I take it from this your gas and leccy bills are controlled by your site i.e piped in to your van my gas bill for the last year, one gas bottle 45 leccy 20 and we are there every other weekend with at least 3 full weeks between march -october

does everybody else on here pay a similar price ? xx
Tbh julie,it sounds a bit steep to me.Ours were about a gas bottle used(59 quid) and 19 for electric. That was for every weekend from April to November. Do you sublet or have long holidays?

I know this is like how long is a piece of string but does anyone have an idea about central heating being run on the gas bottles....ie is there a really marked speed of gas being changed...

OMG, we just got our bill in, and I think we are being ripped off. We have sublet the caravan for most of the season granted, but according to the bill we have used 2,130 units of electricity priced at 0.0623 per unit and have been charged 132.70 plus 60 for the availability charge, don't know what that is to be honest. And 287.81 for the gas which we have used 169 units priced at 1.7030 per unit and a 45.00 availability charge which these 2 total to 525.51.

Are these prices right? any help would be appriciated.

If its any help my current domestic rate is Electricty 31 pence a unit then down to 10.4 after so many kws. And gas 6.6 down to 3.4. But looks as though theres a decimal point wrong in yours somewhere. And electric 1.70 a unit????? Thats just plain mad !!
These figures are from British Gas -- the reason I know - I've just changed over.

Hi Eddcar

Does sound slightly high, but subletting does increase the usage due to them not caring, where you would turn a light off they leave on , also the fire they have full blast go out and leave it on where you would turn down or off. The other possibility is your meters may be wrong you could ask the site to fit a slave meter to check both are reading the same . The meters are normally outside and do get affected by moisture , so maybe worth a try.

It was the Gas I was trying to find out if was priced right, as 1.7030 per unit does sound extremely high. Especially if you look at the tariffs for household gas.
