Default Sweet sickly smell in new lodge bathrooms

Hi, We have a new lodge but there is a sweet sickly smell coming from both bathrooms that won't go even when windows have been opened. Could it be the plastic used for the shower cubicles or something more sinister like drains? Anyone else had this problem?

We need smell o web , have you gone round trying to pinpoint smell , can you visit a showground and visit similar to see if they have the smell ? Do all the drains have u bends ? How long have you been in the lodge , things do smell new but usually pleasantly so.

Could be the silicone sealant they use around showers basins etc..

Can you follow your nose and pinpoint to where it might come from

I don't think it would be the smell from the drains, as they have traps which stop smell coming up, Might be the plastic, or the fact thats its all brand new like getting into a brand new car

I think the smell will go away after a while, have you tried to clean the plastic throughout ?? that might help

Have the bathroom showers etc been used yet? Sometimes there is a sweet sewage type smell when the traps are dry before the equipment has been used (not all newly sited homes get commissioned as thoroughly as they should do...).

I would go with the silicone idea, it always smells like a vinegar to me
If you have any silicone I the shed or garage have a sniff see if it's a similar smell

Also, if you are in the slightest doubt that it could be the drains, I would purchase two x 1 Lt of thick bleach and pour it down the drains to see if that solves the problem.

Is the lodge newly sited? or just new to you.
If newly sited and the smell is still there, then before tipping anything down the drains get the Park manager in to have a sniff and tell you what it could be.
If the smell has already worn off, then it was almost certainly the silicon/plastic.
If the smell went when you put water down the sink/shower drain, then it was a dry trap
If the smell is still there AND if it is related to the drains, then the Park need to get their siting plumber back in to see what has not been properly inserted/connected.
