Default Running costs

Someone somewhere on GS asked about yearly running costs- well if still interested mine were as follows for the 9 months we used it from mid- march to mid november on an east coast site.

Site fees 2388
Electric 135
Insurance 220
Bottled Gas 120 ( 2 large bottles 1 part used )
Drain down 40

Obviously there are the fuel costs of getting there and back but the basic running cost is under 3K ( just )

7 month season, fee's and energy costs, gas electric and petrol, insurance and gas service: 2342, 53 nights spent there works out at around 44 a night, doesn't look that bad, our site doesn't have facilities but we are next to a golf club 35 for s social membership and also a bowling green 30 a year membership, we are in a village that is a tourist trap so has all the eateries you could want with several carry out shops and surrounded by mountains only draw back is the weather whcih can be bad some years but when it's hot it's hot! then we have the midge! good old Avon skin so soft does the trick!

Our previous site in Argyll had big issues with midges, we had hoods which were great until you came inside and the the wee b******s were all over the said hood and clothes.
We got a commercial kitchen UV fly killer which didn't work during the day but at night we could here them getting zapped - very satisfying emptying the tray in the morning We found skin so soft not very effective and unfortunately have about a dozen bottles of the stuff still at the van.
No midges here though but also nowhere to eat out close by - 40 minute walk to Johnshaven along a dodgy coastal path or 10 minute car journey to St Cyrus are our options.
