We at Caraconnect are able to offer a full drain down and reconnection service with a one off payment that allows us to drain down your caravan on a set date and reconnect ready for your arrival with everything ready to go all you have to do is turn on the external stopcock, fill the kettle and settle down for another season with out the hassle of repairing leaks or waiting for the park to turn up and someone repair it for you.
For full details and a booking form please telephone 01206860746 or 07817 730981 or fill in the contact form on our website www.caraconnect.co.uk

As the end of the season starts to rear its ugly head it is unfortunatly that time again when we have to thinking of closing down and preparing for winter.
For this years booking form, and term and conditions, please call or email us. caraconnect@msn.com
If you`re in East Anglia or the south east we are ideally suited to getting to you. We do cover the whole country, call for details
For those of you who have used us in the past, the forms are now being sent out so should land on your doorstep over the coming days, and we have froze (pardon the pun) our prices to match last years.
Dnot forget the cost includes disconnection and reconnection. If you have central heating and would like an anti-freeze level inspection please let us know. Again this cost is the same as it as always been.
Thanks very much
Ian

So annoyed with ourselves. We feel a bit disheartned and a bit stupid.. This is 2nd year we got caught out with damage to van. It doesnt help as its a 12 month site. Plumber said he would drain down for 85. But need to learn of the steps ourselves. We have a combi boiler with central heating. Hydraulics went in boiler and two radiators popped. Do you need to drain radiators if so how do you get anti freeze back in them. Can i also ask if we drain down system is it easy to get up and running again thanks for listening

Radiators are seperate from the water system and should be filled with anti freeze so dont really need to be drained down every year, we got our service engineer to check our anti freeze level was ok last year when doing the gas test took him 5 minutes. the boiler should have a frost setting and should come on if the temp drops below 5 degrees.

Our site in Dumfries is an 11 month site the hard frost back in oct got two vans written off and 10 vans needed plumbers to sort burst pipes.

From October we do a quick drain down after every visit takes 5 minutes ( it helps if your drain down taps are accessible ) simply knock your water off open and leave open your drain taps flush your loo and open all taps, i unscrew my shower head i usually pour a bit of anti fereze into loo and sink/shower traps.

Some take off their mixer taps and some use a flow device to pump air into the system and clear out any remaining water and thats about it.

Hi Kirkietown sorry you haven't had a reply to your query but you have posted in the wrong section.I suggest you move this to "Owning a Caravan",where you will get plenty of advice. You must NEVER drain your C/Heating radiators they should be filled with Anti-freeze.The plumber would tell you this and he should check that there is adequate Anti-freeze in the system.
