Default Rookley country park iow

I need to share this with as many people as possible and hope its allowed to be posted here, but theres a company called Aria Resorts that has bought 3 sites Rookley country park, St helens and Colwell bay on the Isle of Wight. The way they have treated owners is disgusting, they have kicked off 40 caravans with a further 40 to go by the end of 2018 so they can build lodges. The owners have been fighting back and its being aired on bb1

Seems to me that certain people in this world are above the law ? Namely footballers ,politicians ,celebrities and of course caravan park owners !

Seems the developers have decided not to renew yearly licences.....so they have acted legally.......hope the people concerned can get other sites to take their vans

Unscrupulous park owners don't care about van owners, only how much money they can make. If they act within the law nothing can be done. This is probably a very good reason why the government should look into rules for holiday home parks and pass some laws to protect Van owners.

Thank goodness there are a lot of decent park owners.

I agree mosquito i believe one day ( maybe not in my life time ) the truth will out and the unscrupulous park owners. Will be the new PPI scandal maybe a firm of solicitors could get their teeth in this rather than trying to get people to. Claim for injuries for a change ?

Personally I think the anger should be aimed at the previous owners who sold people vans with no time limit and let the sites run down, and laugh all the way to put their millions away....then when the new owners take over they are seen as the bad guys for bringing the sites up to a high level, and investing loads...might be wrong but firefly site bought a few sites then sold them all, just the way this industry works

Ther is no law against selling holiday home parks and you are quite right in what you say. The problem at the moment is that park owners can literally do what they want to do. They don't have to issue a license or agreement for a specific time and in that case, the van owners who have bought their vans in good faith, have no redress.

Don't you agree that it would be fairer if there were laws passed by the government so everybody knows exactly where they stand?

It seems to me that in the particular case cited, it just about making money with no thought about van owners who have invested in their vans and paid their park fees for many years.
