Default How Do I Connect Underneath?

Hi Guys

Sorry if this a really daft question, but our van is very grubby now after the Winter Months, and needs a good clean, most people at our site are already jet washing, but I cannot figure out how to connect to the water pipe under the van?

Our pipe looks a bit like the One in the pic below

Any advise is very welcome

PS what should we use as a detergent?

Firstly I wouldn’t use a power/ jet washer on static caravan exterior panels. Your best option is to either use car wax/ shampoo or caravan shampoo( which is usually available at Aldi/ Lidl at certain times) and apply with a soft brush and rinse off with a normal hose.

Hi

Yes in hindsight (and after reading on-line) it seems jet washing might not be the best idea, although everyone else seems to be doing that right now.

But either way I need an idea on how to connect a hosepipe to that water source underneath

That just looks like it is a feed from out of the ground to the caravan with no external connection for a hosepipe there. I would ask one of your neighbours on site how their hosepipe connects. Usually caravan owners are an helpful lot and most vans connections on your site will be alike or subtle variations.

Yes it's the main source for water from the park supply

I imagine you can buy some form of adaptor to fit between to other fittings, which has a hose outlet, but will get over there and start asking

The easiest thing to do is turn off stop cock cut the white pipe AFTER the stop cock IE. Before it enters the caravan add a T piece and put a garden type tap on it...A couple of clips /bracket fix the tap to the van....The jet wash should connect to a standard garden tap...Plus you got an outside tap for further use and to assist in draining down !

As Peter says , you will need a plastic pipe cutter , only cut the white pipe , pick a suitable point to put the T piece and cut it , refit the 2 cut ends to the T piece using the correct inserts for the pipe , connect a bit of pipe between T piece and outdoor tap again using req’d inserts . Outside tap should have a check valve so it is within water regs. Inc cutter should cost less than £30.

I would think that the water supply up to the tap is the sites responsibility. The site might do the fitting of outside taps for you.

low pressure hose pipe with a brush fitting is enough to get rid of most marks,
