Default Wanting to fit extra electrical sockets.

Hi all,
Hoping someone will be able to tell me if there is any special way of fitting extra sockets, or do you just get the cable clipped under the van and come up where you need sockets fitted. I am not planning on doing this myself I will get a electrician to do it but thought maybe there is a specific way cables need to be run. I am in Northumberland near Seahouses if any electricians are on here looking for work.
Thanks John.

I suspect it will all depend what type of van you have and how it is made. We had extra inside sockets retro fitted in our Park home, some were OK as they were close enough to existing sockets to run the wires inside the wall directly from the existing sockets. Others further away had to have a neatly boxed in extenion along the skirting board. The electrician (who was very familiar with Park homes) spent ages underneath trying to find a way to run the wiring up from underneath, but our home is made so that the walls are too well sealed off from the floor, which itself is sealed off from the outside world.
Your best bet is a local electrician to have a look and tell you what the options are (assuming that your Park is OK with (a) extra sockets on the system, and (b) outside suppliers).

With the thin walls in statics ther is not enough thickness for the back boxes for sockets in many places.
We had a couple of extra sockets put in our 1st van. Fortunately our warden is a qualified electrician and knows about the vans so understood where we could put them, and what was needed.
I was more than happy with the job he did and can now understand why statics are a bit of a specialist field with their own particular problems.

Thanks all for advice, I thought it would be having surface mounted sockets, and electrician finding best way to get cable through.

I seem to recall that there was an article on the forum, probably last year when someone posted about electrical sockets that were very easy to fit. Perhaps a moderator will be able to point you in the right direction of that article.
