Default Which Van / Site Advice Please

Completely new to static caravans so any help would be appreciated.

I'm looking to buy a 2nd hand van to locate in Lancs / Cumbria area with a budget of about 10k. Ideally 6 berth with 3 bedrooms, central heating and double glazed. is this possible and can anyone recommend a particular van to look at or avoid?

Also looking for a child friendly site with on site activities. Any suggestions please?

Hi Smiley66,

You can't buy and site on a caravan park without first getting the park owners permission.
Also the park owner will want a 'gate fee' for you to bring your van on. This can range from 1k right up to 6k plus siting costs and the remainder of any fees for the current season.
Some owners allow bring ons some don't so check first.
Golden rule is park then site on park then the caravan in that order.

Try Cottage and Glendale at Port Carlisle. They have reasonable vans and on site activities but you would have to buy a van from the site.

Hi Smiley, I have a park in cumbria but unfortunately could not come close to that budget. Cumbria /lancs is a huge search area, narrow it down a bit and come back to me. As a footnote clea hall near wigton has some amazing deals. Just buy a van already sited from a park owner/private sale via agreement. Don't bother bringing on it will just leave you baffled.
