I think it depends on the site rules and regs- I think i'm going to get mine done, its a small price to pay which could save our lives at the end of the day ... I think its worth checking the small print in our ins policies as well. You know what they're like any excuse not to pay out!
So i'll be reading your replies now i've read the section its in... Techi!

Safety issues aside,i think it's all down to personal choice. We don't sublet so according to quite a few posts on here it seems there is no actual need to have the gas tested but if we dont have it done then the site won't provide us with gas bottles. As we aren't allowed to purchase bottles elsewhere then it's a bit of a no brainer for us.

Depends on how much you value life at , its a small price to pay for ones own safety .
Also check your insurance company policy , some may want to inpect the test certificate in event of a claim .

In 26 years of the static industry i do know of deaths due to incorrectly maintained gas appliances and the blocking up of vents

As the law stands at the moment it is not a requirement to have it done annually. If you`re subletting then YES you must.
A lot of parks and some insurance companies now state that this must be done annually. If your park states this then you must follow their instructions, and have it inspected.
I would always recommend it anyway, and for the small price it costs its worth it for your own piece of mind. It is not expensive.
You would not believe some of the things i`ve found when inspecting installtions for the first time in many years.
Hope this is of some help
Ian
