Default Can I have a satellite dish up - please?

Hi, I recently bought a caravan on Thorpe Park, Cleethorpes. One of the park rules is that you cannot have a satellite dish on your van. The freeview reception isn't great and I want to put a small sat dish up. Someone said that if they don't see you putting it up they can't tell you to take it down. Any advice would be appreciated

niknak1962. When I had my last tourer I had a small portable dish it came in a suitcase cost about 80 and I got lots of channels.Howevr,I still think you would need to get the ok from the park or I am sure they could make you take it down wither they saw you putting it up or not.

Yes I had one of those as well. If worst came to worst I could leave the bracket up and fit the dish temporarily whilst I am there but there are plenty of fixed ones around me!!

Then I would go to the office and speak to them pointing out there are caravans with them fitted.
Are you in a preservation area or 'area of outstanding natural beauty'? There may be regulations because of that.

This may help

If others have them, look where they have them installed, speak to these owners about anything they had to do regarding permission (if any).
Most parks have rules regarding additions to the pitch and often don't worry unless you start taking the ****. What they won't want is some huge electrically powered rotating monstrosity, but mini dishes low down are usually ok.

Our isn't fitted to the van it's fitted to the verandah, but we are allowed dishes on our site.
I just wondered your rules means no dishes or no dishes fitted to vans.

ML.
