Default Cosalt carlton

Hi all, first post for me here. This forum has been great. Lots of reading and new info for me so first of all thank you!

We are looking at buying a cosalt Carlton 2 bed, 1998. Very good condition asking price of 7500. Perfect pitch with lovely views over the hills.

Can anyone tell me in their opinion what they would expect to pay for this van and any common faults or things I should look out for?

Thank you

Hi, welcome to the forum, it's so hard to put a price as there are so many variables, pitch, condition of static, any extras, decking etc let alone facilities on the site, the sites proximity to shops, beach, town activities etc. At the end of the day, it's worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
You'll need to find out if there's an age limit on the site as well.

In the ref hub is a lot if info regarding buying a static caravan. And also what to look for (eg damp) and where you might find it

Here's the link

Thank you for both your reply. We looked at one similar that the park was selling for the same price and it was falling apart with a leaky roof so in that respect I think we have a not bad a deal but what do I know lol. We are buying as a private sale and are pretty clueless.

Thanks to this site and questions to ask the park does not have an age limit. The park manager says his oldest van is 1993. Myself and hubby said if we get 4 years from it while the kids are young then we are happy. Just abit nervous about taking this on when I'm so clueless!

Hi dawn and welcome,

I have been a caravan trader for years and the carlton is a great van, particularly if it is double glazed and central heated. The price on site depends on so many things so I cant really comment, but if its on a great site that you love its not dear. Is it 35 x 12 and is it double glazed or heated?

Hi Dawn and to the forum.

It seems that you have already had some good advice. bigland obviously has a lot of experience and I would most certainly take any advice he offers you.

Good luck, I know in the end you will make the right decision for you and your family..
