Default Best product for washing exterior of caravan

Hi there,

Im already planning opening weekend in April with a good spring clean of our van. What do people use to wash the exterior of their vans? is there a magic solution that I am yet to unearth? One of our fellow vanners found some stuff in aldi one time, it was brilliant!

Outsides my job-insides down to the missus! I only wash ours at the start of the season but its a good "dobey"!
Heres what i do:
-Up ladder and check gutters for debris and rubbish collected over the winter and clear them out
-FROM A DISTANCE and on a WIDE JET, I give the roof and walls a wash with the hose pipe, taking extra care around seals and where panels overlap
-Hose pipe with brush on roof and walls
-several buckets of hot water with "snowdrops" cleaning fluid in it and sponge
-windowlene windows
-sit back with beer and admire handywork
-swear at seagulls

Hi Rainbowcellar ...

FENWICKS CARAVAN CLEANER - most recommended on here, also MER. (gets rid of black lines)

Always use a SOFT BRUSH - *NEVER PRESSURE WASHER*

Using a pressure washer will break seals and cause leaks around corners and window seals.

We use a soft brush and tesco wash and wax the type you wash your car with it brings the van up a treat.

One of the bet kept caravans on the park is cleaned with Mer, the car shampoo. To be fair te owner also polishes it with Mer.

You are about to witness something unique, I am going to disagree to some extent with Tree Topper (sorry Mr M!). I don't have a huge problem with pressure washers, I have never had a problem with it. But I wouldn't do it every week and i'd stay away from vents and window edges.
