Default The Olympics

Is anyone bothered about the Olympics?
I was watching the news this morning, and when asked most people said they had no interest. I also have no interest and believe the cost of this event could've been spent elsewhere like keeping a few wards open and a couple of coppers on the beat. Hope that's not too political for the mods.

I'm really not bothered about it at the moment but when it's all on I think I'll probably watch some of the more interesting bits on telly.
I really like the synchronised swimming for the entertainment value and the way they make it look sooo easy, it must be really difficult in reality

(It's fine as long as it stays un-political)

The only events I will be watching are the Paralympics

Totally agree with you Das. Me and the OH were only discussing this the other day. It may bring in a few quid from tourism, but that won't cover the cost of it all.

I may watch a few of the events on TV, but I would do that wherever it was being held.

Eleven billion was the last figure I heard mupp. I wonder how many tourists it will take to make that much back?

at the mo i am not really bothered as I dont really like sporty stuff anyway...
but i do like ice skating and gymnastics...

i feel i will be dragged into watching it as it progresses though..

London is going to be a nightmare traffic wise.... and to be honest I am still a bit worried about security.....
