Default Drain downs in October

Hi all

We are going to be away from our van for 4 weeks and not back until 18th October. Do you think it would be sensible to do a drain down? Usually in October we look at the weather week by week and decide from there but obviously we cant do that for 4 weeks.

I think we should but husband says no need. Whats your thoughts?

I suppose it depends where you're sited. If you were in the far north of Scotland there may be a very slight possibility of frost but I would doubt it so early. We're in South Wales and I don't even think about draining down till the beginning of December. I 'd just turn of your water anyway if your going away for a month and open all the taps that should be fine.

I would just turn off the water and flush the loo and leave the taps open. We drain down mid November( -18 by the 18th in 2010 )

Thank you guys. Weve not drained down, just the usual water off and taps open. The long range forecast is fairly mild so we'll be ok, but thanks for your input.
