Default 1 hour from Wigan with low site fees

Hi all

We are taking our first plunge into a static caravan. We run our own business so will only be able to use it at weekends, so VERY LOW site fees are required to make it worthwhile - otherwise its a no go.

We want something about an hours drive from Wigan, as long as there is a pub in walking distance and shops within driving distance, we can forego all the amenities as we have no kids or animals.

Preferably adult only but we appreciate thats a long shot so somewhere quiet will suffice.

Budget, we dont really have one but are happy to spend reasonable for the right caravan on the right site. We dont want new or nearly new, we started down that route and its just way too much money for us to chuck away as we will probably only use it 10 weekends a year - if that. Its just going to be a bolt-hole we can shoot off to after work on Friday and come back Sunday.

Our preferred area is South Lakes but we are open to suggestions.

We only need a 2 bed, we'd prefer more living and kitchen space than bedroom space. We prefer the larger caravans. A long site licence or an amenable site owner so we dont have to worry about getting kicked off or forced to upgrade in a couple of years.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

JOhn

How about our site. 2 minutes from Jct 4 off the M55. Clubhouse on site and Tescos for a corner shop 5 minutes away. Plus the added bonus of 30 minutes drive from Wigan.

Hi Kebabby - we are on Foldhouse in Pilling North Lancs (http://www.foldhouse.co.uk ). Lovely well kept site, no animals, open 51 weeks and a bit under an hour from you. They have a selection of sited vans for sale and have no van age limits.

It was the no animals that stopped us from looking at that site.
