Default Stabilising Jacks

Hi

We are thinking about buying jacks for under the caravan as it shakes when we walk about. Is there anything I should know before buying.

Thanks

Dave

Hi, here's a thread you may find helpful, at the bottom of it I've posted a link to a couple of other threads too.
Hope this helps

Jack location is important you will find the appropriate places to jack the static up marked in the chassis.
It is important not to overstretch the jack i.e. raising it beyond 50% of the available thread. Put concrete blocks under the jack to stop over stretching the threads.
A couple of mine were incorrectly fitted due to the thread being stretched by more than 3/4 of its range. this resulted in some movement when walking in the van due to the jack swaying side to side.

Default Levelling a static caravan

We had similar problems and were told that a caravan needs time to 'settle' especially after a journey and installation - worth bearing in mind.
If you have bought a caravan which has been 'sited' for you, have you asked the site to return to level the van? Ours had to be done more than once and I suggest that it's a task best suited for an experienced staff member.
Best of luck!
