No, mainly because there is no free WI-FI on my site. Although we could have it for 5 a month. Pointless as I want the van as a place to get away from computers etc.

It is free in the clubhouse on our park - trouble with that is, you can end up spending a fortune on drinks whilst you are using it, so it isn't really a cheap option lol.

You can pay to receive it at your van. Prices vary - can't remember exactly, but something like 3.80 for an hour, 6 a day, 12 for a week, 40 for 3 months, nearly 90 for 8 months and something like 120/130 for a year - so the longer you subscribe, the better the deal. I do pay for internet to the van, mainly to keep my daughter amused when the weather isn't so good. It can take a while to get connected when you haven't logged in for a few days and it can be a bit sluggish too.

I tether my iPhone (as Twindecks does) - I have unlimited data on my contract so I don't have to worry about how much I'm using, and we can all use the 'hotspot' so it works great. We do have free wifi in the Club, but I don't use it very often.

I have a MIFI which is great as everyone can use it at the same time. Im with T Mobile so its unlimited data although we dont use that much. We have free wifi at the clubhouse but dont go out that often.

We have free wifi in/near the bar/restaurant but I tend to use my phone in the van to get online although it's sometimes a little slow.

We use mifi too, on three. Because where we are the signal is often weak, removing images from your settings will help enormously .

There's a mobile broadband postcode based signal checker on a thread somewhere .......

EDIT
Try this http://consumers.ofcom.org.uk/2009/0...erage-checker/

Yes, we currently use MIFI with 3, same as a few others.
We used to use 3G for the iPad but have recently upgraded both our mobiles and decided to change to MIFI so we can use multiple devices at the same time.
For us, good means of communication is a necessity due to the amount of time we spend at the van, so rather than wanting to 'get away from technology' we embrace it and want the most efficient and cost effective way of having it.
Both of us read a number of papers online, and have found having good Internet access a godsend for finding out about the local (new to us) area...shops, restaurants, interesting places, theatre tickets, etc. Just about everyone we know has email and we find that a great, non-invasive way of keeping in touch with them.
Our old mobile phones...Nokia Pebls...had become very unreliable so we bit the bullet and now have an iPhone 5 and a galaxy ace, both of which we can browse the Internet with, and do emails, if we want.
Technology? We love it
Bunty x
