I've voted 'used to', our van, is the next to first time we've had a caravan holiday, for 2 yrs. Before that, it was with my ex-wife, and then it was when the kids were kids.

My grandaughter dropped it out, by deliberate accident, that Grandad and AuntyPat, have just bought a caravan, last year, while visiting her, lmao. Serves her right, she always wanted one, after her parents passed. Now she hasn't got one, and never has had. Me?, i'm as happy as a pig in mud.

Default Holidays in other caravans

We frequently holiday in other caravans with friends (also static caravan owners), usually Haven or similar sites when they have a good deal on. We travel quite light and rarely cook. We went to Whitby, Skegness, Great Yarmouth and Weymouth last year. Off to Rhyl this year and probably a few more places. Nothing is as good as our own vans but we still have a great time.

I ticked 'used to' because we only bought our 'Bolt hole' last year, before that we used to 'borrow' my brothers static in the lakes. It was lovely, one of the reasons we wanted our own.....

Its a no for me, we got to weymouth every year but stay in a log cabin, its on a site with cabins, caravans and camping but would always stay in their lodges (cabins). When we go abroad its always to a hotel.
Would seem strange to stay in someone elses caravan.

We've always holidayed in static caravans and I have always desperately wanted my own. Last year we paid 1000 peak season to a private owner on a Haven site, it was a last minute booking and the kids were desperate to get away, the pictures on his website looked great and the caravan overlooked the sea, nice big deck etc...
When we got there it was such a dissapointment, the van itself was ok but it was filthy, there was even dog poo under the kids beds!!
Put me right off, I now have my own van and thats the only one I will ever sleep in!!

Dont think I would enjoy a holiday in another van now that Ive got my own one again. I dont think you can beat having things set out and looking the way you want them, rather than a hired van no matter how nice it is. its just a different feeling knowing its yours.

I wasn't sure when I first considered, but the answer now is definitely no. I love my own so much and when not going there I want a completely different sort of holiday.
