I am sure if you look on the Car boot markets there will be somebody selling Sea fishing tackle. You'll be able to barter and as long as your not bothered about buying there and then, you will find something suitable eventually and you do have all season in which to enjoy beach fishing.so no rush to buy.The problem with the Aldi gear is that it is not substantial enough for what new anglers want,to be honest in the hands of a novice it could be downright dangerous, although this can apply to any tackle that is not used properly. If the lead weight is not fastened to a Shock leader or the line is not up to standard then there is what is called a "crack off" this is when the line breaks when casting and the lead flies off in almost any direction at speeds in excess of a 100 mph.
So pity any poor B*****r walking along the beach if that hits them.Even if I were to buy a reel with line on already, for peace of mind I personally would put on new line that I had bought myself.
