Post Hello! Newbie looking for site suggestions in Wales

Hi all,

We are looking to buy our first static soon and have already found so much helpful information on this site (thank you!) In particular, I was wondering if anyone has any personal experience of any sites in either the Machynlleth or the Bala/Corwen/Llangollen areas of Wales. To narrow it down our requirements are:

Dog and child friendly
Quiet and peaceful
Site fees up to 2.5k ish
No particular site facilities required
No subletting needed
Season length 8 months or more

I think that's the basics covered! Any help much appreciated.

The site I am on ticks most of your boxes except site fees!they are just over!
10mins walking from 3 beaches.
We overlook Trearddur bay on Anglesey, superb beaches, and good views of snowdonia.
I am on Bagnol caravan park, 15mins from A55.

We're on Garth Holiday Park in Machynlleth (Number6 is also on the same site) and it has everything you are looking for.

Hello and welcome Caroline

When I was looking for my van in 2012 we almost bought on a site near Llanidloes, called Clywedog Riverside Caravan Park. It was lovely and everything you've described. In fact the only reason we didn't go on there was that it was about half an hour to the sea and I wanted to be at the seaside.

If you're in the area go and have a look.

Agreed but the children might find it a bit boring?

to the forum Caroline. I can't help in your search but it looks as if you may have a few contenders already.

Good luck with your search.

Salop leisure cover that area and their site and guide are very good.

Thank you - Garth is already on our list to check out so it's good to hear from someone who's already there!
