Is anyone out there a member of NACO, if so do you think its worthwhile forking out the membership fee (Just in Case Scenario).

I joined a couple of years ago for a year so I could take their insurance. I did contact them about an issue I had. Though I can't remember what the issue was I do recall they could not give anymore information I had already found out for myself. The Office of Fair Trading does have articles online relating to static caravan ownership.

I've heard a few stories about NACO, I won't repeat them on a public forum though for obvious reasons.
The best way to have a level of protection is to make sure you are on a park that is in one of the two trade associations, the NCC or BH&HPA. The park should then give you a licence agreement and code of practice. Of course many of them don't but it's worth insisting on one as a condition of sale. It won't offer watertight protection but at least it is a document signed by both you and the park owner should you have a legal dispute.
Too many people rely on verbal agreements which are very difficult, if not impossible to prove in a court of law.
