Default Legal advice

We bought a caravan in 2017 and the licence runs out October this year.
The site is now refuseing to renew it, due to age of caravan .
Although they are caravans over 20 years old that the site owns.
The caravan is in excellent condition inside and out.
It seems that this decision has only been made this year for reasons that are beyond me.
On top of that the shower basin is leaking and will cost £1,500 and we dont know if to get it repaired.
This could have come about as we complained about the park putting a caravan in front of our van that blocked the seaview without letting us know.
Looking at our contract they have broke terms and conditions.
HELP PLEASE!!!
Thanks Simon

Best to read your licence,(which is probably all legal and above board)....when you bought van with 2 years on licence, were you given assurances verbally that they would renew licence....bet they will offer you an upgrade

As your licence runs out I donít think there is a lot you can do , You could join Naco ... https://www.nacoservices.com/ and see if they can advise.
If you like the site , is upgrade an option ? £18k minus the £1.5k you would have spent for the shower and maybe negotiate a years free site fees and it could be a good outcome even better if you could move to a sea view ?
Whereabouts are you , someone on here may know of a site that will take your van.

If your licence ends it is the site owners decision as to whether to offer an extension. It is unfortunate that your ‘van is of such an age and this might be a reason why you will struggle to rehouse it on the Norfolk coast but you might have more luck on small site further inland. Best of luck sorting out your problem.

Hi,

Unfortunately we cannot give out legal advice on the forum (it's technically illegal and potential a big problem for the forum), so I am going to lock this thread.

As with anything legal, I can only advise that you speak to a lawyer or at least citizens advice.

Darren
