Default Willerby Linwood 2019 Boiler issues

Hi,
We bought a new Linwood in June last year. All was well until October when the Vaillant boiler started cutting our when hot. i.e. arrive at van, heating on, 1.5/2hrs later notice its gone cold, boiler off showing heating fault F28 gas ignition problem.

Vaillant have been 4 times, once a pcb was replaced, the gas valve, the other twice they seem to have fired up the boiler from cold, seeing it works and walked off!!!

Has anyone else had this issue with Vaillant.

The retailers have been great but we know our contract is with them ultimately.

Regards

Morg.

Stupid question here, but did the engineer check the gas supply itself? If you have another gas appliance (gas hob or oven) does that make any difference to the boiler firing up?

Whoever sold you the home needs to be kept in the loop in case there is a fault with the actual installation - as that would not be down to Vaillant.

when the boiler malfunctions, the gas hob still works. We are liaising with Willerby via the firm that sold us the van, they are almost as cheesed off as we are!!!!

Have you tried switching on the gas hob while the boiler is working to see if it triggers a malfunction?
Reason I ask is because (many years ago) a routine service on our gas boiler found that there was a fault with our gas supply being too low, and a real risk that if another appliance was switched on, there would only be enough gas for that, so the gas to the boiler would stop. Quickly sorted by Transco without charge (gas meter fault), so worth double checking.
You could also ask Vaillant to send out one of their most experienced Vaillant engineers to find out what the problem is, as a lot of the time the ones who come out have the training but not the experience for situations when the boiler has not read the handbook.
