Red face Owners Cancelling a Booking

Has any owner on here had to cancel a holiday due to a problem with their caravan, say for example shower doesn't work, burst pipe etc. I wondered if any of you put it in your terms and conditions. I am looking at terms & conditions at the moment but can find no mention of it for the owner. I guess because I am new I am worrying about it, because we are in a remote setting it's really difficult to get things fixed quick. What if you double booked? How do you all cover this. Is it covered on insurance? Sorry if this is a really stupid question but I have searched for answers and can't find anything. Thanks.

I doubt it will be covered by insurance. Why would the insurance company pay out for what is essentially a mistake by the owner?

What you need is a booking calendar and you check it before accepting a booking. It's quite simple to do and if you do that you will not make any mistakes. As for problems with the van, it would be unusual to have a problem but you really need a contact near the park who you can count upon to attend to any small jobs that need sorting.

If you aren't doing the cleaning yourself you would also need a cleaner. Whether you clean yourself or someone does it for you, you will be able to determine if something is not working or needs attention. That's the time to get it fixed.

Double booking I think you are at fault and will get poor reviews. I think a minor problem with the van you have to just confess and offer a discount. Do other people on site let and could you pass the booking on to them ? Maybe an owners facebook group where you can pass on bookings and share maintenance people's details
