Default Exterior Marks.

Not having had a static before is it inevitable that they pick up minor dinks in the exteriour panels, so far we have 3 now, 1 of my doing (careless with the yard brush) 1 a mystery and another that looks very much like a small stone has flicked up during grass strimming, there the sort of dinks you have to look sideways down the panel to catch it in the light, I donít see many people ever looking at the outside of their statics so starting to think I should stop fussing over it ...

Yes will always happen, exterior panels are 2-3mm thick only..

It's a more common problem with aluminum panels than UPVC cladding. The cladding is more durable. You can always buy a little suction device similar to the ones used on car bodywork if it gets to the point where you are not happy with the dents. You could try Amazon or Googling it and see what comes up.

Thanks for your replies, it’s a bit sole destroying seeing these little dinks appearing , I am one for looking after things, it’s good to know I should expect them. The UPVC exterior is one point I wished I had considered when picking the caravan but from what I can see they tend to add a few pound on the price tag.

The winter break has brought me another small mark, looks like a small (12 inch) rotten tree branch has blown out of the tree behind our neighbour and hit the side leaving a small mark like a shallow car park door dent, I really wished I had gone for the UPVC cladding, the aluminium was described as “durable” in the sales info but it doesn’t seem that tough at all, the slightest knock leaves a mark and being green they show up more easily in reflections / the sun...

Yes, it's an extra cost depending on the van but well worth it. Also, it mutes the sounds coming from the van slightly so performs three functions, the third is, it has a better thermal quality.
