Default Removing built in seating yes or no?

Hi all been a while since I was on here but was always impressed with the help available when I was a newbie to the static life!

I have a willerby Granada with fixed seating which has always been a pain, not that comfortable as its fairly shallow.

Would love to remove it and replace with a 'proper sofa' but am unsure how this would effect the structure of the caravan

Have been told different things and I thought I know where there will be a friendly expert who might just prevent me making a complete mess of our home from home ...?

Hopefully more will post with thoughts on the idea, but I personally would only take advice from either the manufacturer or someone qualified in this area. Last thing you want is finding out the seating was part of the structure after removal.

You may also or probably need to check with your insurance company as well, regarding modifications.

There is a lot of info on the forum about this.

Here's a page of threads discussing it.

personally no.it could weaken the structure, and reduce the re-sale value.

Yes I really wanted to know if anyone could say definitively if removing the seating in this model would weaken the structure or not and if it would is there a way of bracing it

Willerby didn't want to discuss it, some people say yes some say no!

we thought about doing the same in ours but decided against it because:
its age and didnt want to upset the structure and start pinning etc,
we realised we would have considerably less seating.
instead we have had all new seating cushions and had the whole lot reupholstered.
