Default Keeping on topic...

Good morning all
Can we all please try to stay on-topic in the threads, (especially in the technical section). Having to wade through a load of 'chat' can be off putting when some one is trying to solve a problem. It's also a nightmare to keep an eye on the threads for us poorly paid mods (voluntary!!) to keep check for advertising/spam etc.

It's great to chat, just try to keep the general chat in the 'general discussion' section please. By all means chat about the thread subject though
(cough, cough, that includes me)
Ps. During the next few days we (mods) will try to tidy up some of the threads, so if one/some of your posts are 'deleted' its just to shorten the threads that have wandered a little, hope you understand
Thanks, Angela B.

will try our best but it's sooooo easy to wander off topic when the sun is shining and your coffee is getting cold but now that the boiler is working again we can wash the pots

will try very very hard angela.

Hi all.

Over the next few days, we're going to be tidying up, and removing/closing off topic posts/threads.

As mentioned at the beginning, too much waffle in the more serious sections is very off-putting for people who need information or help from the forum.
The banter and friendliness on here is fantastic, but some threads are being taken over, and totally losing the plot.

This has been mentioned on the forum and via several PM's recently to the Mods, so we are now acting upon it.

If your thread or post is moved/removed/ it is not meant personally.

Thanks.

I for one hold my hands up to going off topic on more than one occasion and apologise. As has been said, it can be very easy to join in the banter and forget why you were on the thread in first place. Will be keeping myself firmly in check in future and only having some fun where it's appropriate

I guys,

I just want to say that there is no need to apologise. It's your 'job' to post on the forum and ours to mod it.

We (as the mod team) just like to be open and as quite a few things needed tideing up it was thought best to give you a heads up.

Now everybody have a

but i think i have 'been good' lately....( ish)...

delete as many of mine as you wish, or that you can be bothered to wade through to find!!

i think this is a brill forum and is very helpful to many people....

i hope the newbies and some of the oldies dont take offence to any of the clearing up................
