Default Loseing touch?

Since I retired I think I am loseing touch with monetry values. We have just recieved our combined Gas and Electricity bill now we are on a fixed tarriff for the gas. This bill covered the last summer quarter and I dont think we used much gas as we didnt have the C/H on and the bill came in at just under 400 and my other half says thats not to bad ? I cant think what the heavy winter bills will be its frightening. What do you think is the bill reasonable? am I loseing touch with money values ? or are the gas/electricity companie robbing us blind?

Robbing us blind without a doubt shuggie. You may as well double that figure for the winter period then.

I work from home and I reckon we are about 50 per month in the summer and about 100 per month for the winter period averaged out. We have a dual fuel fixed online thingy with our supplier. Are sure you're not getting your supply from a Static Park owner ??

We pay 84.00 a month for dual fuel gas and elec, and have always been in credit at end of year. Don't think we will be this year though with the way prices are rising.

It's not too bad we pay 80 per calender month and we are a bit in credit so I reckon round about that would be about right. We got new central heating last January which is more efficient (so they said) so that should save a bit on the gas side, however the price has just gone up on our new contract starting in December so closer to 1000 next year probably. Also depends on weather of course

I suppose it depends on how many rooms you are heating. We meanly turn off the radiators in the rooms we don't use much-like the downstairs loo. The family bathroom and the spare bedrooms. i also rarely have our bedroom radiator on.
