Default To sell or not to sell

We have an Atlas Everglade 1999 in excellent condition and have to move it off site because of its age. Would we get anything for it if we sold it privately?

They seem to go for a few hundred off our site. If you don't sell what would you do with it? Got to be worth a go on ebay or the like.

What a shame, it doesn't seem particularly old at 12 years either.

Hi Margare, I take it you've not found a site in Scotland that will accept you as a 'bring-on'? Or are you considering other options?

i agree... 12 years old is nothing really and i bet it is in really good nik too..

a friend of my sister in law.... bought a static off a site when they were getting rid of a lot of the old vans....( they only paid a couple of hundred quid -if that!) for it...
and they paid for the transportation to have it delivered to their back garden ..the daughters used it as a den and an extra bedroom... they couldnt use the plumbing or anything though - i dont think..

how lovely to have a static in your garden.... perfect for when you wanted peace and quiet and for when you had visitors...

Tiamaria. You could use it for lots of things if your back garden is large enough to accommodate it.

and if you had the toilet connected up to a septic tank or something and also get some electric in there.. it would be brilliant x

Hi Margaret, and welcome to the Forum.

It doesn't seem very fair, having to get rid of a mere young 12yr old van, but you should be able to get a reasonable amount, for the sale of it, assuming that you were thinking of selling privately.

I have an older van too and older than yours, a 1997 but also still in good condition. The park I am on in Scotland allows the older vans to stay provided they are kept well enough. Too bad about yours. Hope it works that you can sell it privately to at least get something.

Have you tried selling it to a dealer?
