Default Update on the life style changes.

Well, we are sat here in our static having settled nicely.

We have bought the bits and pieces, that so far, we have realised we need in the 'van and it feels like it is ours now.

We have also changed the car and can now go near a fuel pump without having to check with the bank manager 1st.

Altogether a much more relaxed lifestyle than touring.

As the song goes, " Happy days are here again " .

Its lovely isn't it. We are sat in ours looking at the lake and enjoying the weather ( for once ) when they said it would last till Friday I didn't think "oh when shall we take the awning down"

Well we’re going off line for a few days. Our home from home has been moved to it’s new home and we have to go and get the essential services laid on ( TV & WIFI ). Back to basics until then.....

to the world of static ownership. It is very contagious. Once you have one it is hard to be without one. We have just given in to temptation and bought another after telling ourselves and everyone else that we intended to wait for a few years before buying another.

Latest Update....
Well one week after packing up internal contents ( it’s amazing how much you accumulate ) and closing the doors of the van at the old site we have unpacked everything and spent the 1st couple of nights at our new site. The move worked out as planned to the following schedule .
Saturday - Closed the door as above (& storage box moved to new site )
Sunday - Old site wardens disconnect decking and disconnect van from services etc.
Monday - Decking firm dismantles decking & stores on new site.
Tuesday - van is collected by specialist hauliers and moved to new site and set up on pitch.
Wednesday - van connected to services and relevant safety checks carried out.
Thursday - We go to van and unpack contents and make fit for habitation ( there seems so much more than when we packed ) & enjoyed our 1st night at our new park.
Friday - Decking firms team rebuild decking ( including adaptations to fit new pitch ) and existing broadband providers come to reset receiver but cannot complete as alas there is no line of sight to their mast.
Saturday - After a 2nd night at van we go home to use broadband there to research alternatives for the van and catch up here and elsewhere.
Sunday - Getting myself confused about broadband but will get there eventually.
Summary.
All in all no complaints ( it would have been a major bonus had the Internet worked out but it was always doubtful )
Lessons learned
1/ Don’t panic.
2/ Shop around
3/ Don’t be afraid to ask questions
4/ Always say “Thank You”.
